Apply to be a 2020 Elections Fellow.

AMP Global Youth was founded by students at Yale after 9/11 to amplify the youth voice around our greatest shared global challenges. Based on the concept of global citizenship and thinking critically about our individual and shared roles in the world, we have touched over 100,000 youth with our work. And in 2020, that mission could not be more important.

This fall, we are seeking Fellows to support our work mobilizing youth to register and vote in the 2020 U.S. elections. Fellows work 10 hours/week, and contribute to our work educating and mobilizing youth around the many impacts and outcomes of the elections. Our goal is to make sure the youth understand and engage in our political system. The Fellow must be very comfortable with drafting messaging, content, and campaign around the topic, with strong support from the AMP Global Youth team.

Responsibilities Include:

  • Helping highlight the impact of the elections on youth. This primarily includes capturing stories from our network, for example by video, poll, or interviews, and packaging them into compelling public-facing content.
  • Helping capture youth perspectives on long-term change we want to see coming out of the elections, for example in education, our economy, or our communities. Fellow will also help package this information into public-facing materials, for social media, for leaders, and more.
  • Contributing to our overall engagement around the elections, through all of our channels.

This is a contract position for a self-starter with a strong interest in global issues, with an strong eye towards communications, media, storytelling, and/or social marketing. Previous experience isn’t required; a strong interest and comfort learning is a sufficient starting point, and AMP staff will help Fellows succeed. They are also extremely reliable, and can manage working remotely and completing assignments on time.

This is a 10 hour/week position from September to mid-December. Fellow should be able to start immediately. Fellows should have reliable technology and internet access to complete their work. Fellows will be paid equivalent to $500/month for 10 hours/week of work.
