For the past year, young people have had their lives turned upside down by the worst global pandemic in a century. It’s time to reconnect, restore, and reenvision what our work and our world can look like. Join us for this special opportunity to connect with the visionary, visceral, emotional, and sometimes unspoken side of our work as youth leaders. Designed for artists and non-artists alike, this workshop will help you connect with the ‘why’ of your work, and build new skills to make it happen.
Join us this summer to:
- Explore key challenges facing us today, from climate change to immigration, to racial justice, through an artistic lens. Through seminars with artists working across mediums, you’ll learn first-hand how creative expression has fueled and reflected some of the biggest social movements we see today.
- Build powerful skills for engaging your peers and community through workshops focusing on weaving cultural politics and community; digital advocacy; art as social justice; aesthetics; and more. You’ll get hands-on experience creating content to uplift and inspire, guided by artists working in the social justice space.
- Apply all we have learned throughout the program in our final showcase. You’ll work on a final piece to share with peers and facilitators, and to further inspire youth activism more broadly.
Participants are also invited to monthly small-group mentoring calls throughout the school year, as well as the Power Up, our student gathering in February 2022.
