I’m Jennie (they/them) and a recent graduate from American University with a degree in International Studies and a minor in Spanish. I grew up in North Carolina but now I call the DMV my home! One of my most defining experiences during my time at AU was working for the Center for Diversity and Inclusion as an intergroup dialogue facilitator, through which I had the opportunity to engage with a variety of identity topics. I am especially passionate about issues regarding the LGBTQ+ community, immigration, and criminal justice! I believe that dialogue is a necessary step towards sustainable change and creates a great opportunity for individuals to not only explore their own identity, but to also engage with topics and identities that they might not have previously known or thought about. I’m looking forward to meeting all the participants and having meaningful discussions that will inspire us all to continue self-reflecting even after our summer session!
