Now Seeking: Community Coordinator

AMP Global Youth was founded by students eager to take action around global issues. Through training programs and campaigns, we amplify the voice and power of global youth.

The Community Coordinator plays a key role in helping us build and maintain relationships with our members and extensive alumni community. This is a great opportunity to build organizing and movement building skills. Specific responsibilities include:

  1. CULTIVATING ALUMNI SPACES: The Coordinator will help cultivate and grow alumni spaces on LinkedIn and Facebook, through sharing interesting content, sparking conversation, and more. They will also lead our thinking around on virtual and on the ground gatherings, for example a quarterly happy hour in DC, or annual virtual alumni training.
  2. SUPPORT ALUMNI ADVISORY BOARDS AND REPRESENTATIVES: The Coordinator will also help us support our growing alumni advisory communities, including the Global Scholar Advisory Board and our Alumni Representatives. This will involve supporting monthly calls, and offering support to help them complete assignments.

The Coordinator will have lots of support for any tools or content that will support them in this work. For example they will not be responsible for leading any virtual trainings for alumni; rather they will play the coordinating role in scheduling, inviting participants, sending notes and follow-up items, etc.

This is a contract position for self-starters with a strong interest in organizing and youth leadership development. Successful applicants are extremely comfortable with these skills, but they don’t need previous professional experience of any sort. While we have a preference for hiring alumni of our programs, it’s not required you be one. Applicants  should also have the equipment to do this work (i.e. phone, tablet and/or computer, as well as reliable internet connection). They are also extremely reliable, and have 2 hours/week on an ongoing basis to complete this work. 

This is an ongoing, contract position. Coordinator must be able to start work immediately, and commit through June at a minimum. This is a paid position, at the equivalent of $15/hour.
